Indian Sands

The splendor of Indian Sands is often overlooked because it cannot be seen from the parking area. A short hike through the woods is required to reach this archeological site that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean can be appreciated from the wind carved sand dunes as waves crash into the base of the cliff below.

Whaleshead

Whaleshead Beach features a prominent rock that bears an uncanny resemblance to the head of a giant whale protruding from the water. Adding to the illusion, waves strike the rock in such a way that the ricochet mimics the spray from the spout of an actual whale. This expansive beach includes a picnic area and a forested hiking trail.
